Below you’ll find answers to some of the most frequently asked question. We are adding most asked questions to this page and your's may be one we place here too.

1. What is the difference between Tuff4 and Tuff6 tiles?

Although these appear similar both covering around one square meter, the Tuff6 is designed for heavy duty industrial applications, whilst the Tuff4 is a light duty product well suited for residential use.

2. What is this 'hidden interlocking system'?

This, simply stated, is an interlocking system that is 'out-of-sight', which seals and joins the tiles together making the installed floor liquid resistant and the end result is a smooth straight line connecting to the surrounding tiles. This is a Tuff Floors Patented TuffSeal™ Hidden Interlocking design system, also used sucessfully in the USA.

3. How many surface patterns are there to choose from?

There are three patterns that one can select from. Keeping in mind the application and the intended type of traffic the floor will be required to carry. and so forth. The patterns are: Smooth (or Hammertone), Stud (embossed circles), and Marquis (which resembles treadplate).

4. What is the difference between the 'hidden interlocck' and the 'open interlock' systems?

Simply stated, with the open interlock one can see the interlocking joining system, which makes for a flat surface over the join, and the 'hidden interlock' cannot be seen, and there is a bevel on the tile edge.

5. Do you have a cost effective means of protection for stairs?

In fact we do, and this is one of our standard products. Vinyl stair nosing is easy to fit, and replace should the need arise. Protects and 'softens' the edge of the stair itself.

6. Are spare tiles readily available or should extra tiles be purchased?

When you order, we save the exact colour mix record so we can make up a new batch for you. In all fairness, there will be a slight discrepency in the colour matching. This is why it is advisable to purchase extra tiles at the outset.

7. Is it necessary to use adhesives?

All of our products are able to be installed over any clean, hard, flat surface generally without the use of adhesives. Under certain conditions in some applications adhesives are recommended. An example is at the entrance to motor vehicle hoists where the turning of the vehicle tyres will twist the tiles and the floor will fail.

8. Is stock available and if not, what is the lead time?

Orders are usually made up per customer. This means that their colours are made up specifically - if not one of our current colour sets. We do not carry stock per se as there are too many variables to orders. Lead times to get a batch made up is usually about 10 working days.

9. What do I do with differing floor heights?

Ramp Profiles or Transitions are designed to provide a ramp between the base floor and the new installed flooring. These facilitate free movement from one floor level to another.

10. Is it possible to design a tailored floor - in full graphics or tiled patterns that simulate ceramic/porcelin tiles?

A tailored floor covering is now totally a reality - in full colour! While there are some design limitations, given that we only work on a square shape, ANYTHING can be brought into this and made possible.

We can now print, in full colour, onto the PCV substrate, which then gets covered with a Polyurethane surface protection, our patented TuffCote™ seal.

11. Is the LVT flooring designed to reduce noise?

Absolutely – noise levels are significantly reduced and the anti-fatigue characteristics provide a comfortable and warm sensation underfoot.

12. How do I start a new project designing our new, patterned or full graphic floor?

Versatile in design and application. The possibilities are endless. Work with our team to create a striking floor design that works for you, for years to come. Book an appointment directly with us.
